Caraway 2012 Fishing Rodeo held

The Caraway Park Commission hosted the annual youth fishing rodeo on Saturday, May 5 with 79 young people registered.

In addition to plenty of fish to be caught, drawings were held throughout the day for prizes.

Winners for individual categories were: largest fish in the girls division: Jade Barajas with a 2-1/2 pound catfish; second place Kinley Loff with a 1-1/2 pound catfish. In the boys division John. M. Shinall won with a 2 pound catfish and Landen Lunsford got second with his 1-3/4 pound catfish.

Participants agreed it was a beautiful day for fishing. The weather was perfect and the 600 pound of fish stocked were hungry. Some of the younger children were excited about catching their first fish.
