Nila June Blevins, 63, of Manila passed from this life Friday, April 27, 2012, at her home. Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Blevins. Nila was raised in Michigan and was a 1966 graduate of Northern High School in Flint. She later attended Flint Community College and had worked many years in the banking industry before returning to Manila 16 years ago. She retired as the assistant director for the Manila Housing Authority and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Juanita Blevins of Manila; two sons, Jon Bowles and Patrick Bowles, both of Sarasota, Fla.; one brother, Rick Blevins of Flint, Mich.; one sister, Judy Allen of Flint, Mich.; her aunts and uncles, Bill Berry of Jonesboro, A.D. Berry and his wife Mildred of Manila and Omega Decker of Manila. She also leaves three grandchildren.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Manila with Rev. Jerry Pentecost officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family received friends Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.
