Jones pitches Lions past Piggott

Brady Jones fired a three hitter and struck out 14 to lead the Lions to a 6-1 victory over Piggott Thursday afternoon at Manila.

Jones went the distance to pick up the win as the Lions improved to 10-5 overall and 8-4 in 3A-3 conference play.

Caleb Reinhart had a single, a double and an RBI. Reinhart scored a run and added a stolen base on the day. Zach Reinhart went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Blake Miller had a pair of hits and scored a run while Dillon Burrow added a hit and drove in three runs.

The Lady Lions crushed Harrisburg 18-9 to improve to 8-7 overall and 8-4 in league play.

Kristen Wise picked up the win in relief, striking out six while issuing three walks. Wise allowed three runs and three hits in four innings of work.

Makenzie Tate had a pair of hits and drove in a run for Manila while Kelsen Watkins and Deven Burrow both had a hit and a pair of RBIs. Taylor Teague added an RBI single for the Lady Lions.
