Mrs. Emma Florabell Burres, 78 of Manila, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Jonesboro. Mrs. Burres was born May 22, 1933, in Honor, Mich., to the late Henry and Mary Ann Steinbach. Mrs. Burres was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Manila.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, country music and loved her grandchildren and playing checkers and cards with them.
Survivors include four sons, Howard Harwood of Garden City, Mich., James Elmer Harwood of Novi, Mich., Robert Lewis Harwood of Missouri and Kenneth Harwood of Manila; one daughter, Flo Cassidy of Manila; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Mrs. Burres was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Burres; five brothers, Elmer, Lewis, Gerald, Sylvester and Phillip Steinbach; three sisters, Ruth Lentz, Wilma Patroni, and Bertha Novak.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 9, at the First United Pentecostal Church, Manila, with Rev. Robert White officiating. Interment was in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family received from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at Faith Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Wayne Shaw, Sr., Wayne Shaw, Jr., Frank Rodriguez, Brandon Harwood, Robert Harwood, Jr., and Henry Shaw.
