Manila Lions Club discuss plans for summer meetings

Manila Lions Club members discussed possible meeting places for the summer months at the Wednesday meeting. The group meets at the elememtary school cafeteria when school is in session.

Lions said they would check on possible places and report at the next meeting.

Lion Ann Jayco reported on the backpack project with a collection of $118.

Lion Tony Crowell announced the annual chili cook-off will be held Oct. 6. Sponsorship was discussed.

Crowell said he had been asked about entertainment, such as a live band, on Friday night.

"It would be up to the Club to make a decision, but in the past the dances or bands at night have been separate from our Lions chili cook-off," Lion Danny Robbins said.
