Manila swept a twin bill over Piggott Thursday afternoon at Manila, winning the opener 11-10 before taking the nightcap 10-6.
Kailen Shelton hit a two-run single, giving the Lady Lions a come from behind victory in the opener. Trailing 10-9 enter the bottom of the seventh, Taylor Teague led off the inning with a double. Deven Burrow walked, putting runners at first and second. Shelby Wallace dribbled a slow roller down the third base line, loading the bases.
Shelton laced a single, scoring the tying and winning runs, giving the Lady Lions the victory.
Wallace picked up the win for Manila. Kirsten Adcock had a pair of hits and drove in four runs while Shelton finished with three hits and two RBIs. Teague had three hits and drove in a run while Brianna Stone had an RBI single.
Ally Lambert picked up the win for Manila in the nightcap. Shelton led Manila at the plate with a pair of hits and three RBIs. Burrow, Wallace and Adcock all had a hit and an RBI in the second game.
Manila knocked off Tuckerman 4-3 Tuesday afternoon at Manila.
Shelby Wallace pitched a complete game to earn the victory, striking out three while scattering seven hits.
Ally Lambert led Manila at the plate with a pair of hits and an RBI. McKenzie Tate also had a pair of hits while Taylor Teague and Kailen Shelton both added a hit and an RBI.
The three wins improves Manila's record on the year to 4-1 overall and 4-1 in league play.
Manila's baseball team dropped a pair of games, losing to Tuckerman 7-2 Monday afternoon on the road before dropping a 14-10 decision to Corning Thursday afternoon at Manila.
Corning scored one run in the top of the seventh to tie the score and added four runs in the top of the eighth for a come from behind 14-10 win over the Lions Thursday afternoon.
