Manila rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to post a come from behind 9-7 victory at Corning Tuesday afternoon in 3A-3 conference action.
Zach Reinhart's two run double gave Manila an 8-7 lead. Reinhart came home later in the inning, adding an insurance run for the Lions.
Brady Jones (2-0) picked up the win in relief for the Lions. Jones worked three innings, striking out five while giving up a pair of runs. Jones allowed three hits and walked a pair of batters.
Reinhart led Manila at the plate, going 3-4 with a pair of RBI. Dillon Burrow went 2-3 and scored twice while driving in a run. Jones helped himself at the plate with a pair of doubles and three runs batted in. The junior also scored twice and stole a base.
Corning led 7-6 after scoring four times in the sixth inning, but couldn't hold on. Korey Smith had the big blow in the Bobcat sixth with a bases loaded double. Smith took the loss on the mound. Jordan Rainwater led the Bobcats at the plate with four hits and three runs scored.
Manila traveled to Valley View Thursday afternoon and dropped a 15-0 decision to the Blazers in non-conference action.
The Lady Lions disposed of Harrisburg 15-8 Monday afternoon at Manila. Kristen Wise went the distance, scattering eight hits to pick up the win. Wise struck out five Lady Hornets.
Kailen Shelton and Kirsten Adcock led Manila at the plate with a pair of hits and two runs batted in apiece. Alli Lambert, McKenzie Tate and Taylor Teague also contributed two hits each for the Lady Lions.
