Buffalo Island Central swept three games last week in senior high baseball action. The Mustangs defeated Rector 7-1 Monday, knocked off Maynard 13-3 Tuesday before easing past Bay 11-7 Thursday afternoon.

The wins pushed the Mustangs' record to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in 2A-3 conference play.

Wes Colbert and Josh McCormick drove in a pair of runs apiece in BIC's 7-1 win over Rector Monday at Monette. Jeremy Smith went the distance on the mound to pick up the win. The senior right-hander struck out seven Cougars on the day. Dillyn Strickland led the Mustangs at the plate, going 3-3 with an RBI while freshman Austin Pike added a pair of hits.

Mark Stone and Logan Dewitt combined to throw a one-hitter in BIC's victory over Maynard. Dewitt was credited with the pitching victory in relief of Stone. Dewitt struck out four in 2 2/3 innings of work out of the bull pen. Stone pitched 2 1/3 innings and fanned four batters. Dilynn Strickalnd went 2-4 at the plate with three runs batted in. Austin Pike was a perfect 3-3 and scored three runs while Jacob Sanders went 2-4 with a pair of runs scored.

Josh McCormick led the Mustangs past Bay, going 4-4 with a pair of RBI. BIC fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first before bouncing back with four runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-3 edge. BIC led just 8-7 going into the sixth inning before putting three runs on the board to secure the win.

Jacob Sanders was the winning pitcher for the Mustangs, going 5 1/3 innings. Sanders (1-0) allowed seven runs on five hits with a walk. The right-hander struck out seven batters.

Jeremy Smith picked up the save, going the final 1 2/3 innings. Smith pitched hitless ball while striking out one and walking one.

Mark Stone paced the Mustangs at the plate, going 2-3 with three RBI while Dilynn Strickland went 2-4 with a pair of runs batted in.

The Lady Mustangs shut out Marked Tree 4-0 Thursday afternoon at Monette. Freshman Madison Greathouse threw a complete game whitewash, allowing only two hits while fanning seven Lady Indians.

Kelsey Strickland went 1-2 at the plate with a double and two runs batted in, while Brittany Stockton added a double and a pair of RBI.

Marked Tree's Peyton Carter took the loss, despite striking out 14 Lady Mustangs.

The win improved BIC's record to a perfect 2-0 overall and 2-0 in 2A-3 conference play.
