Silhouettes Boutique & Tea Room opened in Manila on Friday, March 9. The new business, owned by Bethany Wildy Harris, is located at 110 East Olympia in the former post office.
The space is divided with a spacious area used for a large variety of items in the boutique. The dining area has a seating capacity of 40. The tea room offers a variety of daily specials and everyday soups, salads and sandwiches. Different soups and desserts will be added daily. All of the salad dressings and desserts are homemade.
The new business will be open five days a week opening at 10 am. each day. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The boutique will be open until 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; until 6 p.m. on Thursday; and 4 p.m. on Friday.
"They can choose a theme and we can decorate and provide the food or they can cater it themselves," Bethany said.
Available are crystal and other items for a bridal registry, baby items, clothing for men and women, jewelry, Lollia candles, gift items, Thymes Line, stuffed animals, and much more. One wall has several framed oil paintings and prints in all sizes for sale.
"I have always wanted to have my own business," Bethany said. "My line of study was apparel and this is what I had in mind. Most people like to eat out and shop and here they can do both."
Internet sales and gift wrapping will be available.
Bethany and her mother, Patty Wildy, joined their talents using a modern take on the old Victorian tea room in creating a lovely dining room in black and white. The large silhouette of Bethany over the dining room fireplace was created in California by custom silhouette artist Carl Johnson.
They are looking forward to serving the community and invite everyone to stop by and browse.
