Sarah Cordelia Hatcher, 98, of Monette, passed away Friday, Feb.17, 2012, at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born Dec. 29, 1913, in Clarkridge to the late William and Lathy Lankford. Mrs. Hatcher was a homemaker and a member of the Monette Assembly of God, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She loved to quilt, crochet, sew, poetry, flowers and travel but most of all, her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Carletta Guiltner of Monette and Glenda Castro and husband Frank of McAllen, Texas; a stepson, Chester Hatcher Jr. of Lake Wales, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Hatcher; three children, Elden Dale Hatcher, Joyce Harvey and Ronald Lee Hatcher, and six brothers and sisters.

A celebration of her life was held Monday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. James Moore officiating.

Interment followed in Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 19, at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Bishop Sparks, Cody Hatcher, Alex Hatcher, James Tilley and Jerry Turner.
