The children of James Ward were hosts for an 80th birthday party for their father on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Town Village at Audubon Park in Memphis.

Guests included daughter, Vicki Moore, and husband, Rodney, of Beech Bluff, Tenn.; their children, Bethanie and Nicholas Moore of Memphis and Nicholas' friend, Salenia Turner of Nesbit, Miss.; son, Ricky Ward, and wife, Nancy, and children, Lauren and Logan of Atoka, Tenn.; daughter, Melana Sain, and husband, A.J., and their daughters, Brooke and Shey of Memphis; sister, Vondella (Ward) Davis, and husband, Leon, of Caraway; longtime friend, Grace (Steincamp) Waugh, of Caraway and a host of friends from Town Village.
Those unable to attend were granddaughter, Carly Sain, of Knoxville, Tenn., and sister, Lois (Ward) Meadows, and husband, Larry, of Tonganoxie, Kan.
James was married to Eugenia (Burgess) Ward of the Childress Community for 33 years. Eugenia died in 1985.
James was the radio and television repairman at Caraway for a number of years and also worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. in Memphis for 28 years before retiring in 1994.
