Lady Rebels fall to Marmaduke in Junior District Tournament

Marmaduke wiped away any thoughts Riverside had of reaching the 2A-3 District Championship game with a resounding 51-19 victory over the Junior Lady Rebels in semifinal action Friday night at Lake City.

Shelby Blackburn recorded a double-double to lead the Lady Greyhounds. Blackburn connected for 17 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked eight shots. Sidnee Bopp scored 11 points, dished out six assists and came away with six steals to help Marmaduke's cause.

Skylar Kauke led Riverside with nine points. Natalie Milligan scored four while Ashlyn Snyder, Abbie Love and Lauren Smith added two points apiece.

Riverside advanced to the semifinals with a 34-28 victory over Rector in Tuesday night's quarterfinals. The Lady Rebels held an 8-6 edge after the opening quarter and took a 14-9 advantage into the dressing room at the half. Riverside led 21-20 entering the fourth period.

Natalie Milligan paced Riverside with 10 points while Sydney Emery had nine. Ashlyn Snyder tallied six, Gattlin Hale scored five while Abbie Love and Skylar Kauke added two points apiece.

The Lady Rebels connected on 11-21 foul shots and hit one three pointer.

Brittany Fair led Rector with 10 points. The Lady Cougars hit three of nine foul shots and drained three treys.

Riverside placed three players on the 2A-3 All Conference team, Gattlin Hale, Natalie Milligan and Ashlyn Snyder.
