Manila traveled to Earle Friday night for a key 3A-3 conference battle in senior boys basketball but the Bulldogs proved poor hosts, claiming a 76-66 victory over the Lions.
Autry Allen lead Earle with 21 points while Dalvin Kimble added 18. Daquane Willford recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.
The loss drops Manila to 14-7 overall and 9-3 in league play.
The Lions will return to action Tuesday night when they play host to Rivercrest before traveling to Piggott Friday night to take on the Mohawks.
Emily Cook scored a game high 19 points to push Manila to a 53-46 victory Friday night at Earle. Manila (12-9, 8-5 3A-3) led 15-10 after the first quarter and 29-17 at the half. The Lady Lions took a 40-34 advantage into the fourth period.
Kayla Pope scored 17 to lead Earle while Destiny Jones added 11.
Manila won the junior girls game 44-25.
Manila began the week, dropping a tough 41-37 decision Monday night to Corning at home. Kailen Shelton led the Lady Lions with 14 points.
Kelsey Davis led Corning with 12 points while Katie Scheffler added 10.
Corning took the junior high game 41-20.
Manila lost to Hoxie, 64-50, Thursday night on the road. Hoxie grabbed a 16-13 edge after the first period and held a 34-24 advantage at the half. The Lady Mustangs took a 47-37 lead into the final frame.
Kirsten Adcock drained seven treys on her way to a 25 point performance to lead Manila in scoring. Kailen Shelton added 12.
Manila claimed the junior high game with a 46-18 win.
The Lady Lions will play host to Rivercrest Monday night before traveling to Piggott Thursday night.
