Curt Huckaby has filed for the newly created District Judge position for Craighead County, Lake City Division.
For the first 28 years of his practice, Huckaby maintained a civil law practice in addition to being a criminal defense attorney. For the past two years, he has maintained his civil law practice and has served half time as a Deputy Prosecutor for the Second Judicial District.
During his 30 years of practice, he has also served as a Special Supreme Court Justice, Special Circuit Court Judge on many occasions, and served as Special District Judge numerous times in Jonesboro, Lake City, Trumann, Leachville, Paragould, Corning and Osceola.
Huckaby has also given hundreds of hours of his time in community service as volunteer coach for the Arkansas State University Men's Rugby team.
"I would be humbled to serve the citizens of Craighead County," Huckaby said. "Throughout my 30 years of practice, I have had an opportunity to experience the judicial system from all sides. I pledge I will work hard as District Judge and treat everyone before me firmly but fairly."
The election for the newly formed Judgeship for the Lake City District is May 22, 2012.
