Rebels split pair of Conference contests
Alteeno Sain pumped in 30 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked six shots to lead Riverside to a 74-65 2A-3 conference victory over Maynard Friday night on the road.
Logan Meurer also had a big night for the Rebels, pouring in 22 more points, including a perfect 12-12 performance from the free throw line. Morgan Fletcher aided the Rebel cause, producing a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The victory improves Riverside's overall mark to 10-15 and 3-9 in conference play.
Austin Glisson led Maynard (5-15, 3-9 2A-3) with 25 points. Miles Chaffin had 17 points and 10 rebounds while Justin Davis also recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.
Riverside took the junior high game 56-38 to improve to 23-4 and 10-2.
Kollin Stone led the Rebels with 14 points while Victor Cerda and Devon Austin added 12 and 10 points respectively.
Riverside began the week, losing on the road at Rector 58-54 in 2A-3 conference action.
Rector (14-7, 7-4 2A-3) was led by Denver Knight who scored 12 points. Mitchell Weber and Dillon Shelton added 10 points apiece for the Cougars.
Logan Meurer led Riverside with 18 points. Alteeno Sain and Jacob Jordan chipped in 15 and 10 points respectively.
Riverside claimed the junior high contest 59-25.
The Rebels will return to action Tuesday night when they host Marked Tree at Caraway. Riverside will close the week when they play Walnut Ridge Friday night at Lake City.
