Thelma Jackson, 84, longtime Leachville resident, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at the Gosnell Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Eugene and Gladys Basinger Harrell and had been a longtime Leachville resident before making her home in Gosnell last year. Mrs. Jackson was a retired field representative for the EEOC and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Leachville.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, two grandsons and one great-grandson.

She is survived by three sons, Jerry Jackson of Gosnell, Larry Jackson of Marion and Steve Jackson of Hot Springs; one daughter, Joy Brimhall of Leachville; one brother, Gene Harrell of Holland, Mich.; two sisters, Lavinia Lunsford and Melba Anderson, both of Finnville, Mich. Mrs. Jackson also leaves 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lee Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Leachville Cemetery. The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
