Garland Tipton announces plans to seek re-election

Garland Tipton announced plans to seek re-election for the position of Craighead County Eastern District Chief Deputy.

Garland Tipton, Craighead County Eastern District Chief Deputy, is seeking re-election.

"I have enjoyed the past two years serving as your Chief Deputy Sheriff for Eastern Craighead County," Tipton said. "With your support, I will continue to work hard and try to serve the citizens of Craighead County.

"As many of you know, if you need anything, all you have to do is let me know. In the past two years I have had the chance of meeting people whom I did not know and hope to meet more in the coming years," Tipton said.

Tipton has a total of 18 years of law enforcement experience. He served four years as the chief of police for the City of Caraway; three years as Monette Police Chief; and 10 years as a Craighead County Deputy Sheriff with two years as Craighead County Eastern District Chief Deputy.

"I have been married 32 years to my wonderful wife, Sue. We have two children, Renee Chamness of Lake City and Mitchell Tipton of Caraway," Tipton said.

He is a member of Rowe's Chapel Baptist Church and a member of the Caraway Lions Club.

"In closing, I want to thank everyone for the support and the honor of being your Craighead County Eastern District Chief Deputy," Tipton said.
