Manila board hires elementary teacher
Manila School Board members met in special session on Friday evening to discuss personnel issues.
Board members present included Tracey Reinhart, president; Danny Robbins, vice president; Johnny McCain, Tony Crowell, Jeremy Jackson and Tommy Wagner.
President Reinhart called the meeting to order going immediately into executive session.
Following the executive session, Superintendent Pam Castor recommended hiring Codie Ann Huffman as elementary teacher.
The board voted unanimously in favor of hiring Huffman.
Elementary Principal Dale Case said the numbers are up in kindergarten with 89 enrolled making a need for a fifth kindergarten.
The regular January school board meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 19.
