Morgan Hawley scored a game high 30 points to lead Marmaduke to a 65-57 2A-3 conference victory over Riverside Thursday night at Marmaduke.

Hawley, who also grabbed six rebounds while adding four steals, went 12-14 from the foul stripe as the Greyhounds improved to 15-7 overall and 8-1 in league play. Zach McDowell and Will Winberry both scored 11 points apiece for Marmaduke.

The Rebels led by nine at the half, 38-29, before watching their advantage shrink to one point, 48-47, heading into the final frame.

Alteeno Sain led Riverside with 19 points.

The Rebels claimed the junior high contest 61-35.

Riverside traveled to Lepanto Tuesday night, and absorbed a 73-43 defeat at the hands of the defending state champion East Poinsett County Warriors.

EPC placed three players in double figures, led by Jammar Sturdivant's 18 point performance. Jori Ford added 16 while Martin Powell pitched in 11 for the Warriors, who improved to 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the league.

Alteeno Sain led Riverside with 17 points.

Malik Monk poured in a game high 35 points to lead EPC to a 55-49 overtime victory over the junior Rebels.

Riverside will return to action Tuesday night when they play host to Buffalo Island Central at Lake City.

Lady Rebels

The Lady Rebels dropped a pair of a 2A-3 conference games, losing Thursday night 59-26 at Marmaduke after falling 61-43 Monday night to EPC at Lepanto.

Whitley Boggs led Marmaduke (23-3, 8-1 2A-3) with 15 points while Anna Best and Cally Price both scored 11 points apiece for the Lady Grehounds.

Rebekah Frayer led Riverside (6-13, 2-7 2A-3) with eight points.

Marmaduke also win the junior girls game 45-27 behind Shelby Blackburn's 16 points. Natalie Milligan led Riverside with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Brittany Ball and Alicia Ross both recorded double-doubles in the EPC's 18 point victory Tuesday night over Riverside. Ball pumped in 22 points while grabbing 10 boards while Ross added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Rebekah Frayer led Riverside with 14 points.

In the junior girls game, the Lady Rebels took home a 26-19 victory.

Riverside will return to the hard court Monday night when they play host to BIC before hosting Black Rock Thursday night in a non-conference matchup.
