Freddie Cleveland McKemie

Freddie Cleveland McKemie, 91, of Manila, died early Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late John William and Viola Bishop McKemie and lived much of his life in Blytheville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was the former owner of M&M Motors in Blytheville. He was a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

He is survived by two sons, Micah McKemie and Jonathon McKemie both of Blytheville. He also leaves seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Paul Lawrence officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Manila Cemetery.

The family received visitors Sunday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Zangreal McKemie, Micah McKemie, Jr., Scott Davis, Edward Whitfield, Ronnie David, and Don VanDyke.
