Janice Lynn McWhirter

Janice Lynn McWhirter, 58, of Manila passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mildred Hicks McWhirter and was a lifelong Manila resident. Janice was a 1971 graduate of Manila High School and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a retired registered nurse.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny McWhirter.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Christi Leonard of Olive Branch, Miss.; a brother, Chuck McWhirter of Manila; four grandchildren, Devin Ford, Justin Pate, Christopher Pate and Katelynn Pate; and two step-grandchildren, Jeremy Leonard and Bryce Leonard.

The family has honored Janice's request for cremation and asked any memorials be made to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at 1138 East Matthews, Jonesboro, Ark. 72401.
