Richard T. Burke, 83, of South Fulton, Tenn., died Dec. 27, 2011, at 2:19 a.m. at the Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton, Ky. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II, a member of the American Legion, and was a retired employee of the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Union City, Tenn. He moved to South Fulton in 1966 from Pocahontas, Ark.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris Hawkins Burke of South Fulton, Tenn.; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis C. Burke (Susan) of Corona, Calif.; two grandchildren, Emily Nicole Burke and Samantha Lea Burke, both of Corona, Calif.; and a brother, David Burke of Benton, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elva (Anderson) and Leslie Burke; a son Richard "Stoney" Burke; a brother, Donald Burke; and a sister, Patricia Baumgardner.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel and burial was in the Leachville Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Visitation was at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
