Christmas in the Park moved to Dec. 17

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Caraway Christmas in the Park has been rescheduled for 5-7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Caraway Park because of the weather.

The park will come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas.

This event will feature a live nativity with real actors playing Mary, Joseph, shepherds and angels. They also plan to have live animals to make the nativity scene more authentic. Everyone is invited to drive by and enjoy the scene from the vehicle or bring the family to the park for a closer look. A retelling of the Christmas story will be presented several times during the night.

There will be live music throughout the evening provided by members of area churches. Anyone who would like to sing a Christmas song at the event may contact Heath Hawkins (870) 761-3599. The event will begin at 5 p.m. A community adult and youth choir will lead in a traditional Christmas Carol Sing at 6 p.m.

Hot cocoa and cookies will be served.

This event is free and the community is invited. The sponsoring churches include Buffalo Chapel Baptist Church, Caraway First Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church, and Rowes Chapel Baptist Church. For more information, contact any of the churches or visit
