Robert David Steele

Robert David Steele, 34, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. He was born July 15, 1977, in Jonesboro. David was a graduate of Trumann High School where he played football and set the state bench press record for the 220 pound division. He proudly served his country as an Airborne Ranger in the United State Army. He was a farmer and a member of Monette First Baptist Church. David loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was avid about physical fitness and loved animals.

David is survived by his wife, Crystal Steele; a son, Evan David Steele; his parents, Jim Steele of Monette and Cindy and Steve Baldridge of Leachville; his grandmother, Virginia Miller of Monette; two brothers, Scott Steele and his wife Kiley of Little Rock and Joe Steele of Jonesboro; a sister, Stephanie Baldridge of Paragould; a nephew, Cayden Steele of Trumann; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.D. and Mildred Steele, Robert "Bob" Miller, and brother, Matthew Steele.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Monette Memorial Cemetery with David Lawrence officiating. Burial was under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Monette First Baptist Church.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Kevin Guiltner, David Slatton, Christopher Slatton, Vince Corter, Jack Sparkman and Michael Mangrum. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Steele and Joe Steele.
