Faculty and staff, along with family members, attended the luncheon wishing them well in their retirement.
Assistant principal LeeAnn Helms offered her appreciation to the women for the years they gave to education.
"A thank you is not enough, Helms said.
Superintendent Pam Castor presented each one with an appreciation plaque for their years of dedicated service.
"I agree with everything that has been said and I will go on to say how much I appreciate what you have done for the Manila District," Castor said. "Both of you will be missed."
Ms. Brown has been at Manila for the last 28 of her 32-1/2 years in education. Ms. Poag has been at Manila for 38 of her 39 years teaching.
Both Ms. Brown and Ms. Poag said they are looking forward to retirement and spending time with their families.
The two were given mail boxes, painted by Principal Dale Case, filled with special notes and well wishes from all of the teachers and staff.
