McNabb acquires Gregg Funeral Homes

Tuesday, October 4, 2011

Henry Gardner (Hank) McNabb, Jr., of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Arkansas, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Gregg Funeral Homes in Jonesboro, Monette, Caraway and Gregg Weston of Harrisburg, as well as Langford-Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

McNabb will consolidate the Jonesboro operations at the current Gregg Funeral Home location at 300 Matthews in downtown Jonesboro, which will be renamed Gregg-Langford-Bookout Funeral Home.

"I'm extremely honored to be able to carry on the traditions of three great family names that have provided funeral services to Jonesboro and the surrounding areas," said McNabb. "In fact, Gregg Funeral home's history dates to 1877, making it the oldest continuing operating business in Jonesboro, and certainly one of the oldest in Arkansas. Langford-Bookout's history dates to 1899, and I'm the third generation to own my family's funeral home that's been in operation for 85 years, so I understand the importance of legacy these families have trusted to my stewardship."

The Gregg Funeral Homes in Monette and Caraway, and Gregg Weston Funeral Home in Harrisburg, will continue to operate under their respective names.

"We're going to work hard to build on the legacies that have served Jonesboro so well for more than 100 years, and we look forward to providing the highest level of personal and trusted funeral services to families all over Northeast Arkansas." said McNabb.
