BIC journalism staff earns top honors at convention

Members of the Buffalo Island Central journalism staff earned many honors at the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association Convention. The convention was held in Rogers April 14-15.

Bianca Garcia, Amber Rolland, Kayla Stacy and Colby Qualls.

In addition to earning several superiors in mail-in contests, the staff had its most decorated night at the ASPA banquet. Amber Rolland was named Writer of the Year, and Colby Qualls was named second runner-up in the same category. Bianca Garcia was named Yearbook Editor of the Year, and Colby Qualls earned his second Newspaper Editor of the Year title. Kayla Stacy also got the runner-up prize as Business Manager of the Year.

Hoof Prints, the BIC newspaper, received a superior in the General Excellence category, and the Mustang Yearly yearbook was designated as excellent.
