Laura McDowell served as emcee for the ceremony.

Along with family and friends it was a very exciting time for the young men. Jordan and Travis have worked very hard and were determined to make Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts. All requirements must be attained by the Scout's 18th birthday.

Jordan has been in scouting since fourth grade. He earned the Arrow of Light, the highest rank in Cub Scouting. Then he went on to Boy Scouts in the sixth grade and earned 21 merit badges on his path to Eagle Scout. His Eagle project was done at Bright's Landing.

Jordan presented his parents, Jim and Doris Jones, with pins honoring them as Eagle Mom and Dad and Dolores McCallie with an Eagle mentor pin.

Jim and Doris are very proud of their son Jordan for staying in Scouting and reaching his goal of Eagle Scout. They were very encouraging and supportive of his efforts.

Travis has been in Scouting since first grade. He earned his Arrow of Light, the highest rank in Cub Scouting. He went on to Boy Scouts in the sixth grade and earned 29 merit badges on his path to Eagle Scout. His Eagle project was done at the Manila Park.

Travis presented his parents, Rick and Dolores McCallie, with pins honoring them as Eagle Mom and Dad and his mother with an Eagle mentor pin.

The McCallies are very proud of Travis for staying in Scouting and reaching his goal of Eagle Scout. They were very encouraging and supportive of his efforts.

It was easy to get Travis to the meetings since Rick and Dolores have been in leadership roles for 16 years. Since Jordan and Travis are great friends, it was easy to get Jordan there as well.

Rick McCallie has served as Scoutmaster for most of the time the boys have served in Boy Scouts.

Both Jordan and Travis are very proud of their achievements and have enjoyed the Scouting experience. They have worked very hard to reach this goal.

"We are all proud of them," Rick McCallie said.

Ricky McCallie, Jr., brother of Travis, made Eagle Scout in 2006.

"In our research we were told there have only been four Eagle Scouts out of Manila in over 40 years," Dolores McCallie said.
