Caraway Fourth celebration
The 65th annual Caraway Fourth of July celebration was held Saturday, July 2, starting with a patriotic parade, singing of the National Anthem by Rebecca Stull, flag raising ceremony and presentation of the Man of the Year.
Area veterans were recognized.
Each year a Person of the Year is chosen. Gary Fletcher presented this years Person of the year plaque to Larry Ervin.
The plaque read, "A husband, father, grandfather, brother and a business man. He has run the Ervin Enterprise Business for many years in Caraway. A person you can always depend on and always ready to help in time of need. For being the man he is, the Caraway Lions Club dedicates this 4th of July-2011 Picnic to Larry Ervin."
Drawings, entertainment, prizes, and much more were held throughout the day. For the first time at the Caraway picnic there was a demolition derby inside the park.
The day ended the spectacular fireworks display.
