Megan Misner of Monette, a 2011 graduate of Buffalo Island Central High School, was presented a scholarship from the Chapter AC PEO on Tuesday.

Megan graduated with a 4.135 grade point average and was salutatorian of her graduating class.
She received the highest GPA for two years and the citizenship award two years during high school. She also received the Grammar award, Pre AP English award, Family and Consumer Science highest average, Word Processing I/II second highest average, Algebra I highest average, Civics, Music, Desktop Publishing I/II, AP US History, Spanish II, College English Literature and Composition, and Accounting I awards.
She also was very active serving as president of FBLA and four year member. She was also in FCCLA, Renaissance, Cheerleader, softball player, CODE, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Gifted and Talented, Out of the Dark, Journalism and Yearbook staff, and FTA.
In addition to her school activities, Megan is community minded and has been involved in volunteer work including coffee ministry, movers and rakers (helping people in the community by cleaning yards or handy work); Upward Sports Program for children; and helped in designing a website for a business.
Megan attended the FBLA National Convention and Institute for Leaders in July 2010; Medical Application of Science for Health (MASH) in June of 2010; and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State in June 2010.
She plans to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in the fall. Her field of interest is Biology; pre-dental.
Megan is the daughter of Bill and Gena Misner of Monette.
