Danny Filo Thomas 58, of Clinton, Ark., passed away Monday, June 6, 2011. He was born Oct. 29, 1952 at Leachville to Filo and Cordia (Miller) Thomas.

Danny leaves a wife and three children, not to mention eight grandchildren, 10 brothers, and six sisters. He was all about family and proud of it. He made everyone feel like they belonged in his family. Friends were more than friends to him. He had a smile and a laugh to light up the sky. He worked hard all his life to have what he had and gave it all to provide for us. He was a simple man that believed that in Christ anything is possible.

He was a veteran of the United States Army from 1972-1974 stationed in Germany. Danny was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church Shirley, Ark., where he served as a deacon. He worked at Van Buren County Road Department as a road supervisor, he was employed for 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack Thomas, and George Thomas, sisters, Tootsie Towell, Bug (Sara) Woodard, Linda Dow, and Anna Mae Dow.

He is survived by his wife Ruby Inez (Drury) Thomas; three children, Kim Graddy, Angie Williams, and D.J. Thomas; eight grandchildren, Mickayla, Ally, Adam, Sara, Josie, Gunnar, Blake, and Baylee; brothers, Bill Thomas, Shot Thomas, BoBo Thomas, PeeWee Thomas, Jeep Thomas, Dean Thomas, Harvey Thomas, Johnny Thomas, and Albert Dow; sisters, Debbie Pemberton, Linda Pendergrass, Joanie Cantrell, Mary Fraysher, Tooter (Marylyn) Sevier, and Doodle Ervin.

Pallbearers were Bill Thomas, Dean Thomas, Joe Thomas, Tommy Drury, Tony Thomas, and Harvey Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers were D.J., Blake, Adam, Gunnar, and Brent Williams.

Funeral service was 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Shirley with Pastors Sam Brown and Alan Rolen officiating. Burial followed at Shady Grove Cemetery.
