Allen Dale Rogers, age 55 of Leachville, passed from this life Sunday, June 12, 2011, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro following a short but courageous battle with brain cancer. Born at Imboden, Allen was the son of the late Borden and Linnie Dickson Rogers and had lived most of his life in Leachville. He was a 1974 graduate of Leachville High School and owned and operated Allen Rogers Siding and Construction Company. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Leachville.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Rogers.
Allen leaves his wife, Mary Beth Wheeler of Leachville; his daughters and sons-in-law;
Kim Bibb of Jonesboro, Shanna Rogers of Denton, Texas, Angela and George Donoho of Lake City,
Molly and Tony Johnson of Leachville, Alison and Jack Milligan of Leachville; three brothers, Stan Rogers of Pocahontas, Ron Rogers of West Virginia, Rowdy Fortson of Paragould. He also leaves five grandchildren who lovingly called him "Grumpy"
Allen so generously donated his body to the Department of Neurobiology and Developmental Sciences of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
A celebration of his life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Leachville with Rev. Doug Criss, Stan Rogers, Rowdy Fortson, and Ray Dill officiating. Friends may sign the online guest register @www.HowardFuneralService.com
