Carol June Wells, 70, of Leachville, died early Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born at Black Oak she was the daughter of the late Jess and Lucille Woods Wilcox and was a 1958 graduate of Monette High School. She had lived most of her life in Leachville where she was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. June was the former co-owner of Tri-Star Chemical and later retired from the Leachville Senior Citizens Program as site director. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Ralph Wells of the home; two sons, Barry Wells of Leachville and Brice Wells and wife, Melinda of Monette; a daughter and son-in-law, Dena and John Field of Leachville; four grandchildren, Alex Field, Ashley Field, Hallee Wells, and Haddie Wells. She also leaves three brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Jerry and Cathey Wilcox of Jonesboro, Phil and Ginny Wilcox of Memphis, Harrel and Shirley Wilcox of Mobile, Ala.
Graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Leachville Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Wilcox and Rev. David Price offficiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
The family received visitors Saturday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
