Lady Rebels win 2A District track championship
Riverside took home the 2A District Track Championship April 29 at Paragould and in the process qualified 14 athletes for the Class 2A State Track and Field Meet in Fort Smith.
Bekah Frayer was the high point winner, capturing the 100 meters, 200 meters, long jump and triple jump titles, while also running on the 4X100 relay team to help the Lady Rebels secure the team title. Frayer finished second in the 100 meter hurdles.
Makala Lyles finished second in the 200 meters and joined Frayer, Ashely Holt and Leslie Lyles on the 4X100 relay team. Riverside finished second in the 4X800 relay team, which consisted of Allie Burch, Kenzley Wilson, Kyley Campbell and Katelyn Sailor. Emily Jordan was second in the shot put.
For the Rebel boys, Tyler Glover won the shot put and placed second in the discus. Braden Peaster captured second in the 100 meter run and also finished runner-up in the long jump. Peaster joined Logan Meurer, Lathe Lunsford and Jacob Jordan on the second place 4X100 relay team. Dylan Wright came in second in the 300 meter hurdles while Jordan took home second in the triple jump. The boys finished third in the 2A meet.
Bekah Frayer had another strong showing at the 2A State Track Meet, held Thursday in Fort Smith. Frayer finished third in the 100 meter dash, sixth in the 200 meter dash and eighth in the long jump.
Emily Jordan placed seventh in the shot put while the 4X800 relay team of Kenzley Wilson, Allie Burch, Kyley Campbell and Katelyn Sailor finished in eighth place.
