Cedar Ridge scored five runs in the fifth inning and went on to claim a 7-1 victory in the opening round of the Class 2A North Regional Softball Tournament Friday afternoon at Marked Tree, ending Riverside's season and hopes of gaining a state tournament berth.

The Lady Rebels struck first, scoring their lone run in the second inning when senior Kyley Campbell singled home freshman Jordan Miller, who had led off the inning with a single to right field. But that was all the runs Riverside would score on the afternoon.The Lady Rebels finished with four hits, including two by Lauren Weaver.

Freshman Taylor Archer took the loss for the Lady Rebels.
