Senior right-hander Taylor Morgan fired a four-hit shutout to lead the Lions to a 4-0 whitewash over Hoxie in the first round of the 3A-3 District Tournament Saturday afternoon at Harrisburg. The win propels the Lions into next week's Regional Tournament to be played in Harrison.

Morgan went the distance, striking out five while issuing just two walks. Manila got on the board first with a two-run double off the bat of Jeremy Goff, giving the Lions a 2-0 lead. Blake Carr went 2-2 at the plate and added an RBI while Blake Miller also had a pair of hits on three trips to the plate, scoring twice.

The Lady Lions dropped a heartbreaking 11-10 defeat to Harrisburg Saturday afternoon at Tuckerman, ending their season.
