Riverside swept a 2A-3 conference softball doubleheader Monday afternoon at Lake City. The Lady Rebels defeated Walnut Ridge 6-4 in the opener before taking the nightcap 12-4.
Taylor Archer was the winning pitcher in the first game for the Lady Rebels. Archer gave up five hits, walked six and struck out one in five innings of work. Chaney McLean led Riverside at the plate, going 2-3.
Emily Jordan earned the pitching victory in the nightcap, giving up five hits while issuing just one walk. Jordan struck out five in five innings of work.
Anna Brickell was a perfect 4-4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs in the nightcap. Lauren Weaver went 2-4 and drove in three runs while Amber Fletcher went 3-3 at the plate.
Buffalo Island Central
Marmaduke stayed undefeated in 2A-3 conference play, dealing Buffalo Island Central a 12-0 shutout loss Monday afternoon at Marmaduke.
The victory clinched the conference championship for the Lady Greyhounds. Kelley Lewis (14-2) fired a no-hitter, striking out seven Lady Mustangs while walking none in the four inning contest. Lewis also went 2-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs.
BIC dropped to 2-5 overall and 2-4 in league play. The win lifted Marmaduke to 16-2 overall and a perfect 14-0 in league play. The Lady Greyhounds had 10 hits on the day.
