Etowah Baptist welcomes new pastor; celebrates Resurrection with Easter service.
Etowah Baptist Church recently welcomed new pastor Danny Helms Jr. Brother Danny started his ministry at Etowah on March 20.
Bro. Danny is currently from Lepanto where he was born and raised and graduated from East Poinsett County High School.
Aside from being the part-time pastor at Etowah Baptist Church, Brother Danny is also employed at Manila High School where he is the in-school suspension coordinator.
Brother Danny has been in the ministry for seven and a half years. He was a youth minister at Leachville First Baptist for three years and a youth minister at Calvary Baptist in Harrisburg for three and a half years.
He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelors of science in education and a graduate of Union University with a masters of Christian education.
Brother Danny and his wife, LeAnn, have been married for seven years and have one child, Chloe Grace, 3.
Mrs. Helms has a bachelors of science in education from Arkansas State University as well as a masters in education from Union University and is also currently employed at Manila High School as the secondary American history and economics teacher.
"I just want to let everyone know that we will be having an Easter service at 11 a.m. April 24," Brother Danny said. "We will be having an Easter egg hunt for all of the children immediately following the morning service. We have currently been going through a series of sermons the last few weeks on the last hours of the life of Christ leading up to his Resurrection. We welcome everyone to come and join us celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on this Easter Sunday."
