Lake City Council approves increase in rezoning deposit
Lake City Council approved an ordinance increasing deposits for rezoning proposals, reviewed the April calendar of events, discussed clean-up week, and accepted the previous minutes and financial report at the March 14 meeting.
Mayor Jon Milligan presided at the meeting with Aldermen Harold Barker, Tommy Eakins, Ann Davis, Jeffery Wisham, Danny Dunigan and Brenda Hutcheson present along with city clerk, Linda Simpson.
Simpson read Ordinance 250-11, an ordinance providing for an increase in the deposit amount to $250 for any person or persons proposing a change in the zoning regulations or district boundaries. The ordinance amended Ordinance No. 197-03 raising the rezoning deposit from $150 to $250. The ordinance passed unanimously.
Upcoming events in Lake City were announced by Mayor Milligan. They are an annual rabies clinic at the Lake City Fire Station, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9; Lake City Easter Egg Hunt, Wayne "Biscuits" Short ballpark, 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16; city wide yard sale (no permit needed) Friday and Saturday, April 29-30; clean-up Week, Monday through Friday, May 2-6.
All items for clean-up week need to be put out by curb on Sunday night or Monday morning. Trucks will pick up trash during that week but do not have a set schedule to run.
Mayor Milligan informed the council that a new mosquito sprayer had been purchased for use this year.
Next month's council meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, at Lake City City Hall.
