Raymond Lee "Goob" Clayton

Raymond Lee "Goob" Clayton, 66, of Leachville, died Thursday March 3, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Heber Springs he was the son of the late Robie B. and Gertie Goff Clayton and had been a lifelong Leachville area resident.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Clayton, and a sister, Ivanell Akes.

Survivors include six brothers, Leo Clayton of Monette, Bill Clayton of Leachville, Kenneth Clayton of Leachville, Delbert Clayton of Monette, Myril Clayton of Atlanta, Ill., and Dean Clayton of Monette; two sisters, Wincle Clayton and Imagean Bates, both of Leachville.

Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Monday in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Tom Wellman officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Greg Penix, Robert Clayton, Paul Clayton, Ronnie Penetecost, Tim Spencer and James Davis.

The family received visitors Monday from noon until service time.
