Manila school board accepts resignations

Manila School Board accepted resignations, renewed principal contracts and accepted a revised calendar for the school year at the February meeting.

Following the approval of the minutes and financial report, the board accepted the resignations of Debbie Hamilton, second grade teacher, and Diane Baugher, elementary principal. Hamilton will retire at the end of the school year and Baugher at the end of June.

The board renewed the contracts for the 2011-2012 year for Dale Case, Middle School principal, and Robin Baugher, high school principal. The board also renewed Connie Adam's contract for the 2011-2012 school year. Adams serves as curriculum director.

The board approved the revised school calendar for the present school year. The school missed two days for moving into the new building and four snow days.

The school year will end on Thursday, June 2. Spring break will be held March 21-25.

Superintendent Pam Castor presented the Class 3A Region 3 brackets. The Manila boys and girls qualified for the Regional tournament in Bergman.

The 3-A state tournament is scheduled at Harding Academy in Searcy.

Manila School Board meets the third Thursday of each month.
