James Eugene Son

James Eugene Son, 83, of Manila, formerly of Lepanto, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, in Manila Nursing Center.

He was of the Church of Christ faith and a master plumber and a Navy World War II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Son, and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Son of Manila; a son, Dennis Son of Manila; brothers, Tommy Son of Concord, Larry Son of Searcy, Donald Son and Bob Son, both of Heber Springs, Vernon Son of California, Johnny Son of Michigan; a sister, Ruby Cockrell of Lepanto; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, in Potter Memorial Cemetery. Murphy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
