Manila senior night
Manila senior night, honoring senior athletes, was held Tuesday night. Senior basketball players and cheerleaders were presented plaques in appreciation for their dedication to their school through the years.
Manila fans will be saying goodbye to three senior Lady Lions, seven members of the boys basketball team and the team manager, along with six cheerleaders.
Senior basketball players honored were Taylor Craig, daughter of Tony and Jana Craig. She has played basketball nine years. Peyton Joyner, daughter of Daren and Lisa Joyner, played six years of basketball in Hanover, Ind., and four years at Manila. Jordan Robertson, daughter of Susan Robertson and granddaughter of Frankie and Charolotte Byrd, has played basketball for nine years.
Kam Ashabranner, son of Todd and Lisa Ashabranner, has played for six years. Brian Borden, son of Mary Wyatt and Brian Borden and stepson of John Sipes, has played for one year; J.J. Helton, son of Joey and Jamie Helton, has played for six years. Taylor Morgan, son of Chris and Alesha Morgan, has played for six years. Tracey Wade Reinhart, son of Tracey and Scottie Reinhart has played for six years. Garrett Scott "Big G," son of Laurie Ruple and Gary Scottt, has played for six years. Levi Wallace, son of Scott Wallace, has played for five years. Senior Jeremy Goff, son of Jeff and Alisia Goff, is the manager for the team.
Senior cheerleader Nikki Bowman, daughter of Sheila Bowman and Tony Bowman, has been a cheerleader for five years. Madison Brodie, daughter of Cory and Sherry Pounds, has cheered for eight years. Lindsey Green, daughter of Teresa and Steve Green, has cheered for three years. Kalyn Harris, daughter of Kimberly Kelly and Brett Harris, has cheered for seven years. Danielle Hicks, daughter of Paula and Liz Hicks, has cheered for eight years. Amber Lynn Smith, daughter of Mike and Cathy Smith, has been a cheerleader for eight years.
