Medicare part D Fair to be held in Caraway

Caraway Senior Life Center, 305 North New York Street, will host a Medicare Part D fair from 9-3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15.

Walter Stewart, case manager with the East Arkansas Area Agency on Aging, will be the guest and will present helpful information on Medicare Part D. The purpose of the fair is to determine if people on the drug plan are eligible to receive a reduced monthly premium or qualify to not pay a premium at all.

Mr. Stewart will be available to answer all questions, screen people to determine if they are eligible and apply for those eligible to receive the benefit.

Appointments are not needed. All participants need to bring their Medicare and Social Security cards as well as proof of their income. For more information, those interested may call 1-800-467-3278.

The Area Agency on Aging is a private, non-profit corporation who's mission is to provide leadership relative to aging issues on behalf of older persons in East Arkansas, and to carry out a wide range of functions in planning, coordination, and service delivery such that older persons are assisted in leading independent, meaningful, and dignified lives in their own homes and community as long as possible.

The agency provides case managers to assist clients obtaining public benefits as well as providing services such as in-home care, personal emergency response systems, support groups, exercise classes and non-emergency medical transportation to name a few.

East Arkansas Area Agency on Aging covers these counties, Clay, Randolph, Lawrence, Greene, Craighead, Mississippi, Poinsett, Cross, Crittenden, St. Francis, Lee and Phillips.
