Buffalo Island Central honors senior athletes

Buffalo Island Central held their annual Senior and Parent Appreciation Night at the Monday, Jan. 31, game at the Mustang Athletic Complex.

Senior athletes Ben Cole, Dreyvon Taylor Crabtree, Brent Ray, Taylor Owens, Kalee James, Jenna Pike, Jenny Walker, Lizbeth Blanco, Brenda Cordero, Bianca Garcia, Megan Misner, and Madison Finch.
Eddie Dunigan introduced the athletes and their parents following the junior high game. Dunigan congratulated the seniors and thanked them for their school spirit and sportsmanship. He also recognized their parents for allowing their children to be part of the athletic program.

Senior athletes include four Lady Mustang basketball players; three boy basketball players and five cheerleaders. They shared their special memory and their saddest memory in a program distributed to the fans.

The four girl basketball seniors are Kalee James, Taylor Owens, Jenna Pike, and Jenny Walker. They have played together for six years.

Kaylee is the daughter of John and Kimberly James; Taylor is the daughter of Darin and Leigh Ann Owens; Jenna is the daughter of Michael and Jennifer McFarlin and Jesse and Ann Pike; Jenny is the daughter of John and Murelene Walker.

The senior boys also have played basketball for six years. They are Ben Cole, son of Barry Cole and Brenda Preston; Dreyvon Taylor Crabtree, son of Mark and Amber Crabtree; and Brent Ray, son of Tony and Cindy Ray.

The senior cheerleaders are Lizbeth Blanco and Brenda Cordero, both have been cheerleaders for one year. Lizbeth is the daughter of Maria and Francisco Blanco and Brenda is the daughter of Nora and Hector Cordero. Madison Finch, Bianca Garcia and Megan Misner have been BIC cheerleaders for six years. Madison is the daughter of Jeff and April Finch; Bianca is the daughter of Antonio and Candi Garcia; and Megan is the daughter of Bill and Gena Misner.
