Riverside dropped a heartbreaking 73-67 overtime loss at Marked Tree Tuesday night before bouncing back Friday night to trounce Walnut Ridge 68-41 in senior boys basketball action.
The Rebels led Marked Tree 20-12 after the first quarter and 37-32 at the half. Riverside took a 59-51 lead into the fourth period before the Indians outscored the Rebels 10-2 in the final frame to tie the score 61-61, sending the game into overtime.
Darius Ivy led Marked Tree with a game high 25 points while Allen Buchanan and Thadious Moore added 19 and 14 respectively.
Josh Anderson led Riverside with 16 points while Cole Winford added 15.
Winford scored 20 points while Anderson added 19 in Riverside's victory at Walnut Ridge. The Rebels took a 16-11 lead after the opening period and increased its advantage to 34-18 at the half. Riverside led 46-28 after three quarters.
Chris Dickson led Walnut Ridge with 18 points.
In junior high action, Riverside swept a pair of conference games, downing Marked Tree 61-36 before defeating Walnut Ridge 59-40.
The Lady Rebels traveled to Marked Tree Monday night and came away with a 51-45 victory behind Meagan Goza's 27 point, 20 rebound performance. Kyley Campbell also hit double digits with 10 points while Tara Campbell scored nine points and grabbed six boards. Alytrius Perry led Marked Tree with 23 points.
The Lady Rebels held a 12-6 lead after the opening period before Marked Tree rallied for a 28-25 halftime edge. The Lady Indians took a 40-34 advantage into the fourth quarter, before Riverside rallied in the final frame to pull out the win.
Meagan Goza ripped the nets for 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Lady Rebel's 69-43 victory at Walnut Ridge Thursday night. Kyley Campbell pumped in 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Bekah Frayer added 11 points. Ashley Baker led the Lady Bobcats with 11 points.
In junior high action, Riverside mauled Marked Tree 39-14 behind Kenzley Wilson's game high 18 points. The Lady Rebels came up on the short end of a 54-50 triple overtime defeat Thursday night at Walnut Ridge, despite Wilson's 29 point effort. Chelsea Nicols added 10 more for Riverside, who dropped to 23-6 overall and 9-4 in league play.
The Lady Rebels will return to action Monday night, hosting Cross County at Lake City before closing out the conference season Thursday night against first place East Poinsett County at Lepanto.
