Donnie Don Lampkin, 66, of Rector, died Sunday Jan. 2, 2011, at his home. Born Jan. 13, 1944 at Bellville, Ark., he was the son of the late Fred and Reba Stankowitz Lampkin. Mr. Lampkin was a longtime resident of Rector and had retired after 24 years from Peerless. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, boating, and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carrie Lampkin of the home; three sons, Jerry Lampkin and significant other Shelia Carter, Mark Lampkin and wife Penny and Isaac Lampkin all of Rector; one daughter, Sherri Householder and husband Nolan of Rector; two sisters, Anna Jo Bonner of Gasden, Ala., and Fonda Bacino of Rockford, Ill; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Lampkin.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Hargraves Corner Methodist Church at Hargraves Corner near Rector with Rev. Bill Ivey officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
