"When we mailed out membership letters this year we asked for donations for this special Christmas project," Larry Bibb said. "With 70 members we received over $700 in donations, making that an average of $70 per member. I think this is exceptional."

"Our lodge plans to deliver the hams before Christmas to people in Monette and Leachville Housing, and others as needed," he said. "We obtained lists of names from Buffalo Island Central elementary campuses and area churches. Helping others have a better Christmas means a lot to us, and we enjoy working on this worthy project. This is our second year for this project and we hope to make it a permanent part of our lodge efforts."

The Masons meet the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. at the Monette Lodge.
