Manila rolled over Piggott 60-40 Thursday night in 3A-3 conference play behind Kirsten Adcock who pumped in 15 points, including four three pointers. Taylor Teague and Shelby Wallace also hit double digits, scoring 14 and 13 points respectively.
The Lady Lions held a 17-10 lead after one period of play and stretched its advantage to 33-18 at the half. Manila took a 42-30 lead into the final quarter.
Taylor Craig scored five points, Courtney Craine netted four while Peyton Joyner, Emily Cook and Kristen Wise added three points apiece. The Lady Lions hit 13-19 foul shots and drilled seven three pointers on the night.
Allison Gurley scored 12 points while Brianna Wright added 11 to lead Piggott. The Lady Mohawks hit four of 11 free throws and made four three pointers.
Manila began the week with a 69-63 loss to Rivercrest. The Lady Lions led 23-20 after the first period and 36-34 at the half. Manila took a 54-52 edge into the final frame, but saw the Lady Colts outscore them 17-9 in the fourth period to pull out the victory.
Damonique Brown scored a game high 23 points to lead Rivercrest. The Lady Colts hit 13-22 foul shots and made four treys.
Kirsten Adcock led Manila with 16 points while Shelby Wallace and Courtney Craine scored 14 and 13 points respectively. Kristen Wise tallied nine, Emily Cook netted six , Jordan Robertson scored three while Peyton Joyner added two points to round out the Lady Lion scoring attack. Manila finished 13-14 from the foul line and drilled eight three pointers.
Manila split a pair of junior high contests, defeating Piggott 45-33 after losing to Rivercrest 44-27. Deven Burrow led Manila past Piggott with a game high 19 points, including four three pointers. Kailen Shelton also hit double digits with 13 points. Bailey Towell netted eight points, Haley Hicks tallied four while Charlie Smith pitched in one point. Manila hit 15-25 foul shots and made four three pointers.
Brianna Chandler led Piggott with 18 points. The Lady Mohawks hit just three of 10 free throws and made four three pointers.
The Lady Lions led 16-5 after the opening period, 29-18 at the half and 37-26 entering the fourth quarter.
Deven Burrow scored 13 points, including four three pointers, in Manila's loss to Rivercrest. Kailen Shelton netted six, Bailey Towell scored four while Charlie Smith and Haley Hicks added two points apiece.
Manila will return to action Thursday, Dec. 23, at 7:30 p.m. when they play Marked Tree in the second round of the NEA Tournament at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro.
