Douglas "Peanut" Odell Baugus

Douglas Odell Baugus, 54, of Gentry, formerly of Manila, died Dec. 10, 2010, at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 24, 1956, in Marked Tree, he was the son of William Henry Baugus and Lucille George Baugus. Douglas married Deborah Perkins May 24, 1999, in Gentry. Douglas was an egg processor for the Cargill Hatchery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Ethel Faye Edwards of Manila.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah of the home; a daughter, Amanda; a son, Douglas Baugus, Jr. of Leachville; five sisters, Mary Sue Lee and husband William of Manila, Linda Hancock and husband Bill of Manila, Bertha Copeland and husband Bobby of Osceola, Joann Baugus of Manila, and Cindy Childress of Gentry; numerous grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Jesus Name Church of Cherokee City with Brother Steve Paden officiating. Burial was at Dickson Cemetery near Cherokee city.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
